About
Jean Ferguson
Using process excellence and Lean thinking, I have been making a positive impact globally and across multiple sectors for 30 years.
I am passionate about continuous improvement, respect for people and working with organisations that make a positive impact on the world including public and third sectors.
I help organisations identify the clear purpose to which teams can connect their work. I bring a variety of problem-solving techniques to address barriers to the flow of value they deliver. I also have experience project managing system changes, from design through to implementation. I can help you improve flow before or as part of a systems implementation.
I create and facilitate Lean workshops and courses and provide coaching to develop Lean capabilities. I like to make it fun for people to learn continuous improvement skills.
Methods of working together
Working face to face with people, with post-its and a whiteboard is always my favourite way of operating. Lockdown made that impossible and I started using Mural online whiteboards as a successful alternative. These work well when the team is not co-located, and for short meetings to minimise travel. We can agree together what combination will work best for you and your team.
Location
I am based in Fife and regularly work with clients in person across the Central Belt of Scotland. I also work more widely across the rest of Scotland and the UK, often using online tools.
My values and community commitments
Equality, fairness and finding joy in everything I do.
I am a charity Trustee at Citizen’s Advice and Rights Fife and an active member of the Scottish Tech Army, using my Lean skills to deliver improvements in the third sector.
